Privacy Policy

PoseidonMC is a community-run Minecraft server operated from the United States. This policy explains what information we handle when you play on play.poseidonmc.net, visit poseidonmc.net, or join our Discord. Contact: server.poseidonmc@gmail.com.

• your Minecraft username and UUID;
• your IP address, recorded by the server software for security, ban enforcement, and alt detection;
• gameplay data such as playtime, location, inventory, claims, economy balance, and statistics;
• chat messages, commands, and connection logs;
• moderation records: warnings, mutes, kicks, and bans, with reason and duration.

The website does not require an account and we do not ask for personal details. Our hosting provider records standard technical data (IP address, browser type, pages requested) to deliver the site and protect it from abuse. The live player counter and the staff status indicators fetch data from third-party APIs when you load a page.

Our staff page shows Discord usernames, avatars, and in-game names of volunteers who have agreed to appear there.

We use a small amount of browser storage to remember your cookie choice and preferences. Full details are in our Cookie Policy.

• to enforce the rules, investigate reports, and prevent cheating and ban evasion;
• to publish the public banlist for moderation transparency;
• to keep the server and website secure and available;
• to answer your messages and support requests.

Punishments are published on banlist.poseidonmc.net and show the Minecraft username, punishment type, reason, issuing staff member, date, and duration. IP addresses are never published. If a listing is inaccurate, open a ticket on our Discord and we will correct or remove it.

We do not sell your data. We share it only with the providers needed to run the service — our server host, website host, Discord, our live map and banlist tools, and server status APIs — and where we are legally required to do so, or where it is necessary to protect the server and its players.

Gameplay data is kept while the season runs and may be deleted at a world reset. Chat and connection logs are kept for a limited period for moderation. Ban and punishment records may be kept indefinitely so that bans stay enforceable.

You may ask for a copy of the data we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it, by opening a ticket on our Discord. We may keep data needed to enforce bans or to comply with the law. Depending on where you live (for example the EEA, UK, or California) you may have additional rights; we will honour valid requests.

PoseidonMC is not intended for children under 13. We do not knowingly collect data from them. If you believe a child under 13 has provided us with personal information, contact us and we will delete it.

We may update this policy; the “last updated” date will change. Significant changes will be announced in our Discord.
