Terms of Service

PoseidonMC (“we”, “us”, the “Server”) operates the Minecraft server at play.poseidonmc.net and the websites at poseidonmc.net and its subdomains. By connecting to the server, joining our Discord, or using this website, you agree to these Terms of Service and to our server rules and Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the server or the website.

PoseidonMC is an independent, community-run server. It is not approved by, associated with, or endorsed by Mojang Studios, Microsoft, or Minecraft. “Minecraft” is a trademark of Mojang Synergies AB. You must own a legitimate copy of Minecraft and comply with the Minecraft End User Licence Agreement and Usage Guidelines while playing here.

You must be at least 13 years old to use the server, the website, or our Discord. If you are under the age of majority where you live, you may only take part with a parent or guardian’s permission.

You are responsible for everything that happens on your Minecraft or Discord account, including actions by siblings, friends, or anyone you share access with. We do not accept “someone else was on my account” as a defence.

The server rules form part of these terms. In addition, you may not:

• use cheats, exploits, bots, or unauthorised modifications that give an unfair advantage;
• attack, overload, scan, or attempt to gain unauthorised access to our servers or services;
• harass, threaten, dox, or discriminate against other players or staff;
• post illegal content, malware, scams, or unsolicited advertising;
• impersonate staff or other players, or misuse our name, logo, or branding.

Access to PoseidonMC is a privilege, not a right. We may warn, mute, kick, ban, remove builds or items, or restrict access at any time, with or without notice, at our sole discretion — including for behaviour not explicitly listed in the rules.

We publish a public banlist showing usernames, punishment type, reason, staff member, and duration, so that moderation is transparent to the community. If you believe a listed punishment is factually wrong, open a ticket on our Discord and we will review and correct it. Punishments do not entitle you to a refund of any purchase.

You keep ownership of the builds, screenshots, text, and other content you create. By submitting content to the server, Discord, or website, you give us a non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to host, display, and use it to promote the server (for example in screenshots, trailers, or social posts). We may remove any content that breaks these terms or the rules.

Any in-game ranks, cosmetics, currency, kits, or other virtual items are a limited, revocable, non-transferable licence to use a feature on our server. They are not your property, hold no real-world value, and cannot be sold, traded for real money, or transferred between accounts.

If and when a store is offered, all purchases are payments for that licence and are treated as final and non-refundable except where refunds are required by applicable law, or where an item was not delivered because of a fault on our side. Purchases do not exempt you from the rules, and no refund is owed if your access is removed for breaking them. Starting a chargeback will result in a permanent ban of all associated accounts. Content, prices, and features may change or be discontinued at any time, including at the end of a season or world reset.

The server is provided “as is” and “as available”. We do not guarantee uninterrupted uptime, data integrity, or that any world, build, item, balance, or statistic will be preserved. Seasons end, worlds may be reset, and plugins may change; backups may be incomplete or unavailable. We may suspend or shut down the server or website at any time.

We link to and rely on third-party services such as Discord, our live map and banlist, and server status providers. We do not control those services and are not responsible for their content, availability, or practices. Your use of them is governed by their own terms.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, we disclaim all warranties, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for loss of data, items, progress, profits, or goodwill. Our total liability to you for any claim relating to the server or website is limited to the greater of the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim, or USD 50.

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless PoseidonMC, its owners, staff, and volunteers from any claims, damages, or costs (including reasonable legal fees) arising from your use of the server or website, your content, or your breach of these terms.

We may update these terms at any time; the “last updated” date above will change and continued use means you accept the new version. These terms are governed by the laws of the United States and the state in which the operator resides, without regard to conflict-of-law rules.
